What Kind of a Hacker Should you Be?

Many people want to be hackers. But what type of hacker do you want to be? This article will help you choose! What kind of hacker are you right now? Here are the MAIN types of hackers hidden in the world today....

Black Hat Hackers
Black Hat

A Black Hat Hacker (also known as a cracker) is someone who hacks without authorazation or permission. Black Hat Hackers are usually solitary, even though some work in groups. As a team, they can be deadly. Black Hat Hackers usually D-DOS websites in groups. There methods can include Vandalism, Identity Theft, Site Defacing, and other Illegal Techniques. Names for Black Hat Hackers include things like"Cyber-Demons."

~~Superman White Hat Hackers Superman~~

White Hat Hackers are the "Angels" of hacking. They are mainly know as "Ethical Hackers." Ethical Hacking is an actual career in the world today. To be a White Hat Hacker you must be certified. They hack for good, not for bad. They perform tests on security by using certified methods that would be illegal if used in the hands of a Black Hat Hacker. This side opposes Black Hat Hackers. This side may be small, but it is still powerful. White Hat Hackers are becoming an increasing threat to Black Hat Hackers. White Hat Hackers usually work in groups. They are very sucessful because they understand what they're trying to fix (because they have experience with the problem). Other names for White Hat Hackers include "Cyber-Gods and Hacking-Angels."

Ninja Grey Hat Hackers Ninja

Grey Hat Hackers are both good and bad. They do bad hackingHehe for malicious reasons and good hacking as well.Biggrin They help and harm. Many people are Grey Hat Hackers. They are barely any other names for Grey Hat Hackers. They are just "typical" hackers but still potential threats.

Confused Which Hacker should I Become?

Make sure you know what your getting yourself into. Hackers are caught sometimes. And when they are, they are charged and usually go to jail for a short period of time (unless you are a CERTIFIED White Hat Hacker).

Maybe you are not ready? It's your choice. Mabye you will decide to hack only a little (in your school for example). Whatever it is, it's your choice. Choose wisely!

I dont want to go to Jail! What is the best path for me?

It's pretty hard for you to get caught but there is still a good chance of being caught hacking. If you dont want to take this risk, I would highly recommend becoming a White Hat Hacker (like me Thumbsup).

But you should get certified! There are many courses you can take to become a Ethical Hacker (White Hat Hacker). But, beware! There are many scams (made by Black Hat Hackers) meant to steal info and eliminate White Hat Hackers (or those trying to become White Hat Hackers)!

Then how would you know which course for White Hat Hacking is real and safe? Well, I have gone ahead and found a secure website to become a Ethical/White Hat Hacker! Here it is:

Other types of Hackers

"Wait a minute! I thought there were only 3 types of hackers! Black Hat, White Hat, and Grey Hat Hackers!"

Well, there is only 3 types of hackers. But there are sub-categories in these 3 hacking groups. Below are some "Ranks" hackers can get:
__

Elite Hacker - A rank meant to describe the the most skilled of hackers. New hacking methods are usually known be these hackers first.
__

Script Kiddie - A rank that describes a hacker that uses tools made by others and understand little about true hacking.
__

Neophyte - A rank that describes a person that is new to hacking and has no experience with hacking and/or technology.
__

Hacktivist - This is really not a rank to be proud of. It is a name very closely related to "Terrorist." Hacktivists are people who hack to get a message out about religion, ideaology, and political message. These types of hackers usually D-DOS websites to get there message out.
__

Green Hat Hackers- Hackers who hack to make money. They do not worry about if their methods are legal or illegal, they just hack for a client to make Money.
